Mrs. FANNIE MAE (HAMILTON SMITH) DICKERSON was the daughter of Joseph K. Hamilton Jr. and Mrs. Mary Elizabeth (Nichols) Hamilton. Obituary "Services for Fannie Smith Dickerson, 89, of Diana, will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2003, at the chapel of Grubbs-Loyd Funeral Home, in Diana. The Rev. Joe Hocking will officiate. Interment will follow in Smyrna Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today, March 7, at the funeral home. Mrs. Dickerson passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2003, in Longview. Fannie was born April 28, 1913, in Searcy, Arkansas, to Joseph K. and Mary Elizabeth Hamilton. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Walter Eugene Smith; her second husband, Masters Ree Dickerson; three children, Shirley Dickerson, George T. "Popeye" Smith, and Walter E. Smith Jr.; three brothers; three sisters; and four grandchildren. She is survived by four sons and their wives, Robert E. Smith, and Zion and Karen Smith, all of Marshall, Ray and Debra Dickerson, of Diana, and Jerry and Barbara Dickerson, of Karnack; three daughters and their husbands, Grace and Leon Wallace, of Marshall, Janie Black, and Susan and Steve Newman, all of Diana; one brother, George K. Hamilton, of Marshall; 34 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be James Gore, Scott Dickerd, Charles Coleman, Tony Lehr, Richard Lopez and Steve Newman. The family wishes to thank the staffs of Whispering Pine Lodge and Greater Hospice of East Texas."
