Mary Flossie Phillips (known as Flossie) was born 19 September 1883 in Barber, Scott (now Logan), Arkansas, USA. She was 4th of the eight known children born to James S. Phillips (1856-1905) and Susana A. [Burrows] Phillips (1841-1917). Siblings: Anthony O. Phillips (1877-1883), Rutha (Dovie) A. [Phillips] Blythe (1878-1918), Jerry A Phillips (1882-1895), James T. Phillips (1887-1888), William Eugene Phillips (1890-1946), Infant Phillips (1892-1892) and Emma M. Phillips (1894-1894). At the age of 17 years, she was married to Thomas Perkins Blythe (1880-1952) on 18 April 1901 in Barber, Logan, Arkansas. They became the parents of Lopha Mae [Blythe] Yancy (1903-1997), Della Canzada [Blythe] Kimes (1907-1956), Omer Lee Blythe (1910-1978), Odell Melvin Blythe (1912-1965) and Burnice Cecil Blythe (1916-1952). Mary passed away 2 September 1935 in Barber, Logan, Arkansas and she was laid to rest in the Pine Log Cemetery there.
