Bio

Funeral services for Mrs. Lula B. Butler, age 102 of Alexandria, were held Wednesday, July 27th, 10:00 A.M. at the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church with the Rev. David Boothe officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Mrs. Butler died Monday, July 25th, at her residence after a long illness. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, Columbia, and the widow of the late Tilden Butler. Survivors include: 2 daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Butler Meredith, Alexandria, and Mrs. Lucille Butler Fisher, Shreveport; one sister, Mrs. Effie Banks Campbell, Leesville; 11 Grandchildren, 26 Great-grandchildren, 6 Great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were: John Meredith, Jim Fisher, D. J McHenry, Jerry McCarty, Kevin McCarty, I. H. Butler. Published in The Caldwell Watchman-Progress (Columbia, LA), Wednesday, August 3, 1983
