Herman Muesse, 87, of Hillsboro, passed away Saturday, Aug. 20, 2011, at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro with the Rev. Darrel Beggs officiating. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 22, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors in Hillsboro. Herman was born in the Honey Flat Community near Irene, Texas, in Hill County, to the late Herman and Matilda (Schmidt) Muesse. In November 1946 he joined the U.S. Army Air Corp and served his country until his discharge in November 1949. On Dec. 19, 1946, he married Netty Corpier in Hillsboro. For 43 years, he was a very dedicated and dependable employee with Texas Power & Light. He retired from TP&L as a Class A Lineman in August 1987. After his retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling and participating in family dinners and reunions. He was very dedicated to his family and was always present for the important events in their lives. He was a charter member of Central Baptist Church in Hillsboro, a very active member of the Masonic Lodge #196 in Hillsboro, and the Shriners in Waco. He was preceded in death by his wife on Sept. 26, 1999. Survivors include his sisters, Marguerite Schronk, of Hillsboro, Jolene Lehmann and husband, Henry Dean, of Brandon, and Tommie Elkins and husband, Melvin, of California; nephews, James Ray Schronk and wife, Judy, of Hillsboro, Wesley Schronk and wife, Debbie, of Irene, and Jimmy Lehmann, of Brandon; niece, Paula McCance and husband, Chuck, of California; great-nephews, Adam Schronk and wife, Mandy, Rodney Schronk and wife, Susan, Derek Schronk, Dustin McCance; great-nieces, Allison Schronk and Shannon McCance; and great-great nephews, Ryan and Trey Schronk.
