He was born Jan. 10, 1886, in Greenville, the son of Frank Pearce and Alice Spardling (sic) Pearce. He had been a life-long resident of Hunt County and nearly all of his life lived in the Tidwell Community. He married Luna Miller Aug. 24, 1905, in Greenville. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Tidwell Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife one daughter, Mrs. Hick Beene of Greenville; two sons, Clarence Pearce of Greenville and Hubert Dick Pearce of Garland; two sisters, Mrs. Stella Langford of Greenville and Mrs. Mattie Spoonemore of Dallas; one brother, Ira Pearce of Gunter; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Tidwell Baptist Church with the Rev. Fred Chambers and the Rev. B. J. Bell officiating. Burial will be in Tidwell Cemetery. Coker-Mathews Peters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Pallbearers will be Carl Jacobs, Lloyd Jacobs, A. V. Henslee, A. Z. Puckett, W. C. Gray and W. E. Risenor (sic).
