Jean (Perlenfein) Chrismer was born February 17, 1930 and passed from this life November 3, following a brave fight with cancer. She was a life long resident of this community, the daughter of Albert and Oouuala Perlenfein of Yuma. Jean graduated from Yuma with the class of 1948, along with her future husband, Bob. She was the first Queen of the Yuma County Fair and Rodeo during her junior year in high school. Following graduation, Jean went to business college and worked in Denver for a couple of years. Returning to Yuma, Jean was a secretary at the Yuma High School for several years. In 1968, she went to work at Farmers State Bank and retired from there in 1991. She and her husband have enjoyed retirement at their home just west of Yuma in recent years. Jean was married to Kenneth (Bob) Chrismer in 1955. They have two children, Ramona Hofer of Lyman, Wyoming and Roger Chrismer of Otis. Survivors, besides those mentioned, include one brother, Dennis Perleinfein and family of Lone Star; three grandchildren, Eldon McCreath, Sarah Douglas and Rachel Hofer, and three great-grandchildren, Colton, Dalton, and Madison McCreath. Preceding her in death was a brother, Ernie Perleinfein. According to her wishes, cremation was performed and a family inurnment will be held at a later date.
