Hazel McFarland, 82, of Caldwell, passed away Monday, August 1, 2011 in Caldwell. Services are set for 10 a.m. Thursday, August 4, at Macedonia-Hix Baptist Church in Caldwell with burial will following in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, at Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home Caldwell, Texas Published in The Bryan-College Station Eagle on August 3, 2011 ------------------- McFarland, Hazel 82, of Caldwell passed away peacefully Monday, August 1, 2011 at her home in Caldwell. Arrangements are planned for Thursday, August 4, 2011 at 10:00 a.m. at Macedonia-Hix Baptist Church in Caldwell with Rev. Don Hancock officiating, burial will follow in the Hix Cemetery. The family will receive guests from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home. Mrs. McFarland was born February 2, 1929 in East Bernard, Texas to parents Elmer J. Brod and Revia Marie Barnett. She married J C McFarland June 24, 1946 in Wharton, Texas. This union was blessed four children. Hazel was a member of Macedonia-Hix Baptist Church for over 36 yrs. She enjoyed cooking for everyone, was a big fan of Alan Jackson and loved her family. Mrs. McFarland was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers; Delbert and Max Brod and by a grandson, James McFarland Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years J C McFarland of Caldwell, son James McFarland & wife Barbara of Caldwell, three daughters; Claudia Krenek and husband Larry of Caldwell, Patricia Ross and husband David of College Station, Deborah Lawrence and husband Mike of Hurricane Mills, TN, a sister Dorothy Wofford of Missouri City, TX, 16 grandchildren; Michael McFarland , David McFarland, Thomas McFarland, Terrence McFarland, Cory McFarland, Ally Borrego, John McBurnett, Jason McBurnett and wife Bonnie Starrak, Jeremy Krenek and wife Kelli, James Andrews of Caldwell, Lori Toole and husband Steve, Joanna Vaughn and husband Jeremiah Davidson, Lindsey Lay, Caleb Vaughn, Kristi Tanner, Bradley Tanner and wife Melissa Pearson, also by 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
