Augustine Pariset of Seward passed away May 28, 1862, at a rest home in Lincoln at the age of 81 years. Mrs. Pariset was born in Luxembourg, Germany [see note below] on July 21, 1881 and lived much of her life in the Seward community. She was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include: two sons, Arthur of Beaver Crossing and Charles of Eckley, Colo.; two daughters, Mrs. Cleo Owens of Utica and Mrs. Evangeline Burkey of Lincoln, 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Services were held for her on Thursday, May 31, at 2 p.m., at the Evangelical United Brethren Church, Rev. Robert Folkerts officiating. Casket bearers were Robert Pariset, Victor Pariset, Richard Pariset, Donald Pariset, Harry Burkey and Rex Owens. Burial was in the Seward Cemetery. Seward Citizen, Seward, NE, Tues, June 2, 1962 NOTE: While the newspaper said she was born in Luxembourg, Germany, there is an error. She was born in Lascenborn, Germany. Lascenborn was right along the French/German border, and from 1871 until 1918, it was in Germany; after WWI, the border reverted to its pre-1871 location. Now it is in France and known as Lafrimbolle.
