Marthia was the daughter of John Calvin Harris and Mary Jane {Molly} [Johnson-Johnston] Harris. Grand daughter of Charles Thomas & Mary Jane {Ramsey} Harris. He was born in Charlotte Co VA, 25 July 1797, died in Lee Co VA, 1 Apr 1872, Grandmother born in VA, died 7 Dec 1879, Lee Co VA. Marthia's great grand parents are said to have been Joseph Harris and Joanne (Almond) Harris.
