FRANZ—Addie Franz, 72, Bay City, died in the Matagorda House Monday. She was born in Rosenberg, June 11, 1907. After her marriage to LeRoy Franz, the couple moved to Bay City 54 years ago. The couple owned and operated Franz Cleaners for many years. Mrs. Franz was a member of the First Christian Church. She is survived by her husband, LeRoy, of the home; two sons, Lloyd of Brady and Lee of Pasadena; two sisters, Dorothy Pierce, Palestine and Beulah Reek, Needville; two brothers, Roy L. Rogers, Madisonville and Jack Rogers, Brazoria; and six grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 pm Wednesday in the First Christian Church with Rev. Robert Matheny officiating. Pallbearers will be Woody Bond, Bill Frantz Sr., Morris Richardson, Shirley Brown, Fred Friday, Phil Wilson, George Wainner and Otha Caldwell. Interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park, Van Vleck under the direction of Taylor Brothers Funeral Home. The family has requested donations be made to the First Christian Church Memorial Fund, in lieu of flowers. The Daily Tribune, October 23, 1979.
