Mrs. Charles (Albina) Jurasek, 89, a long-time resident of the community, died Tuesday, Sept. 4, 1984, at the home of her daughter, Dorothy Baros, after an extended illness. She was born Nov. 26, 1894 in Dubina, TX to Joseph and Anna Kunetka Fiala. She married Charles Jurasek on Nov. 26, 1913, on her 19th birthday. He died in 1966. Mrs. Jurasek was a member of St. Procopius Catholic Church in Louise, a member of the SPJST Lodge No. 30 in New Taiton and an honorary member of the KZJT Society. A rosary was recited in the Triska Chapel at 6:30 pm Wednesday. Services were held at 10 am Thursday at St. John's Catholic Church in New Taiton with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J.A. Petru officiating. Interment was at St. John's Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Triska Funeral Home. She is survived by 3 daughters, Mrs. Ed (Dorothy) Baros of El Campo, Mrs. Victor (Annie) Dolezal and Mrs. George (Evelyn) Capak, both of Palacios; one brother Ed Fiala of New Taiton; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Jurasek's son, John, died in 1980 and her husband, Charles, died in 1966. Pallbearers were Billy Dolezal, Albert Jurasek, Daryl Capak, Steve Capak, Bryan Brown and Eugene Bezdek. Honorary pallbearers were Dr. Ronald E. Goelzer, Jimmie Hlavinka, and Earnest Holub. In lieu of usual remembrances, the family suggests that memorials be made to El Campo Memorial Hospital or to the Wagner General Hospital Pink Ladies Auxiliary in Palacios.
