Bio

Funeral Services were held today (Wednesday) for John Frank Fiala, a resident of this community for the past 73 years who died in a local hospital on May 13. He was born in Weimar on Feb.22, 1891 and was 83 years old. He is survived by one son, Rudolph Fiala of El Campo; one brother, Ed Fiala of Taiton; and one sister, Mrs. Albina Jurasek of Louise. Also 5 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A rosary was recited in the Triska chapel on Tuesday at 8 pm. Services were held at St. John's Catholic Church in Taiton today at 9:30 am with the Rev. J. A. Petru officiating. Interment was in the St. John's Catholic Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion and National Guard. Pallbearers included Billy Dolezal, Allen Labay, Edwin Fiala, Daryl Capak, Johnny Morris, and Milan Krutilek. Ed Baros was an honorary pallbearer.
