Maurice William Uptmor, Sr., 78 of Kaufman, passed away on September 20, 2010. Maurice was born on August 16, 1932 in Tours, the son of Fred Joe and Annie (Schroder) Uptmor. He married Mary Mildred Thompson on June 20, 1951 in Tours. He worked for Johnson Controls, Inc for 43 years before his retiring. He was of the Catholic Faith. He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Carla Sue Fuentes; granddaughter, Jessica Smith ; and brother, Fred Uptmor. Mr. Uptmor's family that is cherishing the memories of his life are his wife, Mary Mildred Uptmor; his children, Maurice William Uptmor, Jr. and wife Lori of Forney, Norman Joe Uptmor and wife Bonnie of Eustace, and Peggy Elaine Smith of Scurry; five brothers; three sisters; 13 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. His service, under the direction of Goggans Funeral Home, will be Thursday, September 23, at 2:00 PM in the funeral home's chapel with Chaplin Richard Hagar officiating. Interment will follow the service at College Mound Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 at the funeral home with a Rosary Service at 7.
