The Fort Worth Star-Telegram October 31, 1996 Page: 7 WHITE SETTLEMENT - Clessie L. Wood, 85, a retired White Settlement school district employee, died Tuesday at home after a long illness. Funeral: 1 p.m. today at First Baptist Church of White Settlement. Graveside service: 3:30 p.m. today in Eastside Cemetery in Bridgeport. Clessie was born May 14, 1911, in Whitney. He grew up and farmed in Gilliland, Texas, where he met and married his wife of 62 years, Minnie Still of Bridgeport, Texas. They moved to Bridgeport in 1938 and then to White Settlement in October 1944. He worked at General Dynamics for three years and then for the White Settlement school district for 20 years until his retirement in 1975. Mr. Wood was preceded in death by a daughter, Glenda Reynolds. Survivors: Wife, Minnie, of White Settlement; two daughters, Lanelle Libby and her husband, Lin, of Weatherford and Carolyn Wood of White Settlement; two sons, Gerald Wood of Fort Worth and Ralph Wood of Burleson; daughter-in-law, Lynette Wood of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren, Greg Libby and his wife, Paula, of Benbrook, Penny Heba and her husband, Bob, of Cleveland, Ohio, Kimberly Margowski and her husband, Bill, of Benbrook, Mark Wood and his wife, Tammy, of Trophy Club, Todd Belcher and his wife, Audrey, of White Settlement, Ron Wood and his wife, Karin, of Cleveland, Gayle Libby of Weatherford and Toi Eichenberger of Fort Worth; and 11 great-grandchildren, Brandi Bickel, Maegen Jackson and Travis and Tyler Libby, all of Benbrook, Alexis and Emily Wood of Trophy Club, Ryan Wood of Cleveland, Nolan, Caulun and Skylar Belcher of White Settlement and Samuel Eichenberger of Fort Worth.
