Josie M. Zabka, 80 of Albion died Thursday, May 26, 1983 at the Boone County Hospital. Funeral services were held Saturday, May 28, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Albion. Father Jerome Dickes officated. Honoray Pallbearers were Pat McCoy, Jim Bader, Brent Vernon, Dan Thieman, Charles Tracer, and Robert Kittelson. Pallbearers were Don Fulsaas, Larry Homolka, Mike, Rick, Keith and Kevin Zabka. Interment were made in St. Michael's Catholic Cemetery, Albion. Josie daughter of Frank and Josephine (Vasek) Libra was born April 11, 1903 in Czechoxlovakia. At the age of nine she moved to the United States with her parents to Clarkson, Ne. and attended school there. On June 27, 1922 she married George D. Zabka at Albion. She lived her entire married life in Boone County. She had been a resident of Wolf Memorial Good Samaritain Home since September 28, 1977. She was a member of St. Michael's Church since October 14, 1958 and a Honorary Member of the Altar Society. Survivors are four sons: George, Chillicathe, Mo., Marvin, Petersburg, Herold, Albion, and Adolph, Dorchester; four daughters; Mrs. LeRoy (Agnes) Fulsaas, Battle Creek, Mrs. Charles (Jo) Homolka, Helen Morris, and Betty Greek, all of Albion; one brother; Joe Libra, Deer Park, Wash.; 32 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death were her parents; husband, November 1, 1963; two sons, Joe and Raymond; one brother; and four grandchildren.
