Bio

Billie was the second child of Roy Arthur Chumney and Celia (Harris) Chumney. He spent most of his life in Hamilton County where he was born. During World War II, Billie served in the U. S. Army Air Corps. On 9 September, 1949, he married Hazel Louise Landrum. They were the parents of three children--Damon, Donna, and Karen. Both Billie and Hazel were teachers. After Hazel's death, Billie married Sylvia. In addition to dairy farming, Billie taught science in Hamilton High School. On September 9, 1982, Billie married Garvine (Atchley)Geeslin. In Billie's memory former students and friends established a scholarship fund.
