U. S. Army, WWII son of Roy Arthur and Celia Harris Chumney husband of Vivian Louise McAnally Chumney He was in the auto sales industry prior to his entering the farm equipment business. In addition to his being the Massey-Ferguson dealer in Hamilton he farmed, ranched, and actively participated in team roping. Roy Glen married Vivian Louise (McANALLY) Houck in Ardmore, OK, on 4-Dec-1950 From The Hamilton Herald-News 12/30/1999 Roy Glen Chumney, 70, died Friday, Dec. 24, at the Hamilton Hospital. Services were Tuesday, Dec. 28, at the First Baptist Church with Brad Davis officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery. Mr. Chumney was born April 2, 1929 in the Live Oak community of Hamilton County, the son of Roy Arthur Chumney and Celia Harris Chumney. He was married to Vivian Louise McAnally on Dec. 4, 1950 in Ardmore, Okla. She preceded him in death on Aug. 6, 1999. He was a veteran of the Army and worked in auto sales prior to going into the farm equipment business, a career that covered more than forty years. For many years he was the Massey-Ferguson dealer in Hamilton. He was also a farmer and rancher and active in team roping competition. His father and a brother, Billie Chumney, precede Mr. Chumney in death. Survivors include his mother; three daughters and their spouses, Glena and husband Buddy Bates, Kay and husband Steve Burnett; Royce Ann and husband Ricky Wiggins; four grandchildren, Chad Horton and wife Melinda, Christie Horton, Mitchell McCarty and Ricky G. Wiggins; two great-grandchildren, Erica and Megan Horton; three sisters, Sara Jo Lewis, Virginia Waldrep, and Jeanne Tallent; two brothers, Carl Chumney and Jimmie Chumney. Pallbearers were James Green, Alton Gromatzky, Dennis Krueger, Ed May, Otis Vick and Bob Cochran. Honorary Pallbearers were Seth Williams, Darwin Atchley, Bill Lamb, Carlton Adams, Alan Babbitt, Winters Fox and Jackie Calhoun. The family has designated First Baptist Church, 200 S. Bell in Hamilton for memorials.
