WITHEE - Virgil E. Konwinski 77, Withee, died Saturday June 25, 2005, at Saint Joseph's Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Marshfield. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2005, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen. Father Eric Linzmaier will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Withee. Pallbearers will be Paul Konwinski, Robert Konwinski, Aaron Konwinski, Oak Slusser, Peter Koepl and Lennie Koepl. Honorary pallbearers will be Liz Slusser, Amber Konwinski, Tami Koepl and Luke Slusser. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. today at Maurina Funeral Home, Owen. There will be a parish rosary service at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Maurina/Community Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Virgil was born Sept. 12, 1927, in Omaha, Neb., to Peter and Vera (Bonark) Konwinski. Virgil and Steffie Konen were married Nov. 2, 1952. They have farmed in the town of Hixon since 1960. He drove cattle truck for Bernard Auberg and later for Jens Miller. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Virgil enjoyed hunting and fishing and spending time with his grandchildren. Virgil is survived by his wife, Steffie Konwinski of Withee; his children, Ken (Donna) Konwinski of Withee, Joe (Judy) Konwinski of Withee and Dave Konwinski of Fresno, Calif.; his grandchildren, Paul Konwinski, Robert Konwinski, Liz (Oak) Slusser, Aaron Konwinski and Amber Konwinski; one great-grandson, Luke Slusser; three sisters, Tillie Holewinski of Stanley, Theresa Gadza of Chippewa Falls and Rosie (Frank) Koepl of Stanley; and two brothers Edward, (Audrey) Konwinski of Chippewa Falls and Chet (Nancy) Konwinski of Neenah. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Richard; one sister, Irene; and one brother, Ray.
