Bio

Stella Watts Williams, 100, of Hillsboro passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Hill Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, May 15, at Marshall & Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Rev. Paul Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery near Whitney. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Sunday prior to the service. Stella was born February 14, 1911 in Whitney the daughter of Earl and Cora (Ivy) Watts. She lived in Hill County all of her life. On December 10, 1932 she married William Daniel Williams at King Memorial United Methodist Church in Whitney. He preceded her in death on June 10, 2003. After 30 years of service, she retired from Grant-Buie Hospital in Hillsboro. She was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Whitney and also attended Walnut Street Baptist Church in Hillsboro. She was a member of the Texas League of Vocational Nurses of Hill County and Hill County League of Vocational Nurses. Also preceding her in death were her parents; daughter, Peggy Worley; brother, Clyde Watts; two sisters, Pauline Wallace and Rachel Watts; and a grandson, Timmy D. Williams. Survivors include her children, Bobby D. Williams of Whitney and Diana George of Dallas; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Cora Billie Clawson of Alvin.
