Eva Gladys Slough, 98 of Whitney passed away on June 28, 2010. Gladys was born on January 30, 1912 near Nocona, the daughter of the late James and Lillian Pitts Lowe. On December 26, 1928 she married Elmer Slough and he preceded her in death on April 2, 1986. She moved to Whitney from Freeport in 1977. Gladys enjoyed listening to her books on tape. She was of the Baptist faith. She was also preceded in death by 2 daughters, Jean and Janita; grandson, Chris Slough, 4 great grandchildren, Tracy Swinscoe, Tessa Summers, Renae Cooper, Kirsten Slough; 4 brothers and 4 sisters. Survivors include her children, Billie Swinscoe and husband Clarence of Whitney, Edward Slough and wife, Nellie of Whitney, Joe Slough and wife Earleen of Hamilton, Nancy Price of Pottsville, Arkansas, Jerry Slough and wife Glenda of Brazoria; 19 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren, 35 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great granddaughter.
