June 20, 2022 -------------------------------------------------------------------------- Frances Fries, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Ondrak, was born in Tabor County, Czechoslovakia, May 8, 1869. She passed away at her home in Ravenna, Neb., December 14, 1945. Her death came after an illness of two months. She came to American with her parents at the age of one year, settling eight miles east of Geneva. In 1890 she married William Fries. They made their home in the Ohiowa community several years, then moved to Custer County for four years, and in 1909 moved to Ravenna, where they made their permanent home. This union was blessed by eight children, five sons, John, Henry, George, William Jr. and Edward and three daughters Emma Sklenar, Helen Stickney and Blanch Brust. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Julia Yeck of Wymore and Mrs. Minnie Stejskal of Ohiowa. Her husband preceded her in death June 17, 1943. Four brothers and four sisters preceded her in death. Funeral services we held at the Sove Mortuary with Rev. J. A. Miller in charge. Interment was at Ravenna beside her husband.
