Bio

Mr. W.J. Chaney was buried in Greenwood Community Cemetery west of Weatherford. He was born on Dec. 24, 1835 and died on March 15, 1918. His obituary was printed in both the Weatherford Daily and Weekly Herald dated, March 15, 1918. He died at his home four miles west of Weatherford and had lived in the county for 37 years. He was survived by two brothers who resided in Grand Saline, Texas. Confederate pension application for W.J. Chaney, Parker County, Texas, P.O. Weatherford, comptrollers File #6514, approved 14th of March, 1900
