Whitney Messenger Friday, February 11, 1955 Mrs. L.O. Shelley Passes Saturday in Clifton Clinic Mrs. Lora Lee Shelley, age 51, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Saturday in a Clifton Hospital. She was the wife of elementary school principal L.O. Shelley at Whitney. Funeral Services were held at 2:30 Sunday afternoon from the First Baptist Church in Whitney. Rev. Fred F. DeVaney officiated assisted by Rev. F.E. Weller. Interment was in Whitney Cemetery. Mrs. Shelley was born in Bosque County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J.H. Brown. She married Otto Shelley on January 4, 1920 at Whitney and had lived near here since that time. She united with the Towash Baptist Church when 15 years of age and was a member of the First Baptist here at the time of her death. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star, Whitney Chapter 930. Survivors include her husband: two sons, Gerald W. of Seagraves and Joe W. of Anaheim, Calif.; three brothers, J.L. Brown of Seagraves, Conroe Brown of Waco and Oliver Brown of Blum; a sister, Mrs. Lillie Kennedy of Whitney.
