The Whitney Messenger, Whitney, Hill County, Texas, April 1989 - "Mrs. Lillie Kennedy - Mrs. Lillie May Kennedy, 82, of Whitney died Tuesday morning, April 11, at a Whitney hospital. Born October 8, 1896, in Bosque County, the daughter of John Henry and Mary Harris Brown, she had resided in Hill County most of her life and was a member of Missionary Baptist Church in Whitney. She married Harvey Kennedy, November 19, 1911, and he died March 16, 1970. Survivors include two sons, Hugh Kennedy of Whitney and Odell Kennedy of Athens; and one brother, R. O. Brown of Blum.. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Stevens and Rev. Alan Lane officiating.
