Bio
Charlotte was the daughter of Josiah Willey and Christine Thomas. She married Alfred Bedford on August 17, 1876. They were the parents of Josiah S, William A, Thomas Melvin, and John A. July 10, 1934 - Carroll Daily - Mrs. Charlotte Jane Bedford was born in Richland county, Wis., July 18, 1852, and departed this life July 5, 1934, at the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 17 days. In her early life she moved with her parents to Iowa, locating on a farm in Pleasant Valley township, Carroll county. In the year 1876 she was united in marriage to Alfred Bedford, and to this union four sons were born, Josiah Charles of Glidden, William Alfred of Indianola, Thomas Melvin of Ralston, and John Abraham of Carroll. Her husband, Alfred Bedford preceded her in death on May 25, 1915. For the past 12 years she has made her home with her son, William at Indianola. She was a woman of many fine qualities, a loving mother and friend, and a faithful Christian. She was a member of the Methodist church of Carroll. Besides the four sons, she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Sol Cundy of Laurens, Mrs. Mary E. Jackley of Carroll, and one brother, John H. Willey of Carroll, ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren besides other relatives and friends.
