ROSIA SUSIE'' MENDES JAN 14, 1916 - MAR 8, 2011 Rosia Susie'' Mendes, age 95 of Modesto, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2011. She was born in Melrose, Arkansas to parents John and Minnie York. One of several jobs she had was as a cook and waitress for over 20 years. Susie is survived by her husband John Mendes, daughter Frances Williams, brother Edwin York, 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 10 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter Nellie Baker and 5 brothers and 3 sisters. A visitation will be held on Monday, March 14th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Lakewood Funeral Home (Riverside Chapel), 900 Santa Fe Ave., Hughson, CA. with a graveside service to follow at 2:00 PM at Lakewood Memorial Park. Lakewood Funeral Home entrusted with arrangements. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Community Hospice, 4368 Spyres Way, Modesto, CA.
