Susan Tabor was born on November 15, 1946, in Dallas, Dallas Co, TX. She was the daughter of Joseph Frank Tabor, Jr. and Lucille Clyde Gates. Susan was raised in the Oak Cliff section of Dallas. She married Robert Gene Courtney on February 3, 1968. Susan Tabor Courtney, 53, a homemaker, died Tuesday, April 25, 2000, in Bedford, Tarrant Co, TX from complications of juvenile diabetes. Mrs. Courtney was preceded in death by her father. She is survived by son, Craig Robert Courtney and his fiancee, Rae Dorsey; daughter, Colleen Suzanne Courtney DeVivo and her husband, John; mother, Lucille Gates Tabor; brother, Dr. David Gates Tabor; grandchild, Lauren DeVivo; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation was 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 28, at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel, Colleyville, Tarrant Co, TX. Her funeral was held at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 29, at Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Chapel. Burial was in Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Diabetes Association.
