Jennie Duspiva Jennie C. Duspiva, 101, of Nampa, died on Saturday, Nov. 14, 1992, at a Nampa care center. Memorial services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 18, at the Alsip Funeral Chapel. Rev. Tom Larson, pastor of the Nampa First United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will precede the services at 10:15 a.m. at the Kohlerlawn Cemetery, Nampa. Jennie C. Duspiva was born on July 30, 1891, at Yale, Iowa. At the age of 10 she moved with her family to Missouri where she was reared and educated. She married Mike Duspiva on Sept. 29, 1909, at Auxvasse, Missouri. Their first home was at Bayle City, Illinois. On Oct. 16, 1918, they moved to a farm on Franklin Road near Nampa. In December of 1943 they retired from farming and moved into town. Her husband preceded her in death on March 6, 1962. After the death of her husband she moved into an apartment. She spent seven enjoyable years at the Heritage Retirement Center. She was a member of the Nampa First United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Nampa Valley Grange #131 for 69 years, where in her younger days, she was an active member and spent innumerable hours participating in many fund-raising activities that culminated in acquiring a hall for Nampa Valley Grange. There Jennie spent many happy hours quilting with her friends who called her Mrs. Mike. Jennie was a wonderful cook, homemaker and mother. She and her husband were true partners on the farm where they instilled in their children a work ethic. Having a delightful sense of humor and a ready smile, being able to cope with the handicaps that accompany aging, Jennie was an inspiration to all those who came in contact with her. Jennie is survived by a son, Victor Duspiva, Lodi, CA; 4 daughters, Velma Thurston, Missoula, MT, Mildred Yankey, Weiser, Odessa Eidemiller, Nampa, and Jean Fisher, Eugene, OR; 24 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by 3 sons, 2 daughters, 3 brothers and a sister. Friends may call at the Alsip Funeral Chapel until 9 p.m. today and on Tuesday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The family suggests memorials to the Nampa First United Methodist Church, 404 12th Ave. S., Nampa 83651; or to a favorite charity.
