From the Archives of the Texas Baptist Historical Collection, Ft. Worth, Texas, comes this obituary (p311 of minutes Bk2 of something): "Theodosia Burr Nipp was born in Russell County, Kentucky, May 24, 1846. Immigrated to Texas with her father, W.D. Lair, in the fall of 1857, was married to Hance McAfee, March 6, 1862, and he having died, she was married to George Nipp Dec 19, 1866, from which union there were born six children, two girls and six boys. She made a profession of faith in Christ at a meeting held at Shady Grove meeting house, conducted by Bros. Jesse C. Portman and Myers and Callehan, in October, 1860, and was baptized into the fellowhip of Friendship Baptist church by Br. Jesse C. Portman, of which church she was a worthy member until the day of her death, Sunday April 15, 1894, making a continued membership in the church for 33 1/2 years. C.H. Wysong, T.A. Parris, J.B.
