Bio

Born in Okretsch, Crimea, Russia (This was a small German Villiage, previously occupied by Russia, but is now part of Ukraine) the son of Peter Emmanuel and Maria (Eisenbraun) Eisenbraun. The second of 10 children born to the couple. Siblings Immanuel 1882-1882; Gustav 1884-1946; Martin P 1885-1961; Albert 1886-1983; Johannes 1888-1889; Peter 1889-1889; Louise 1890-1895; Rosina 1891-1895 and Herbert P 1895-1965. He had two step mothers ? Nachtigal and Elisabeth Margaretha Traxel who married Peter in 1896 - from this marriage Heinrich had 7 half siblings. They are Helen 1897-1910; Alexander 1899-1935; Emma 1900-1979; Edward 1903-1905; Melitta 1904-1996; Emelia 1907- ? and Theodore John 1909-1999. Henry married Fredericka Shaeffer on February 7, 1907 in Tripp, South Dakota. They had six children Rudolph H, Ferdinand, Edwin Erhard, Gotthold Walter, Hulda Viola and Tillia Rufina all of whom survived him. He traveled to the US with his father,step mother Elisabeth and several siblings about 1905, settling first in Hutchison County and moving on to Pennington County, South Dakota. Pennington County Courant on 6 August 1959 Services here Friday, Henry Eisenbraun, 76 Henry J. Eisenbraun, 76, died Tuesday afternoon at his home in Wall. It had been nearly a year that he had been seriously ill. Services will be held at First Lutheran Church in Wall tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock with Rev. A. R. Kieschnick officiating. Henry Eisenbraun was born February 7, 1883 in Crimea in Russia. He came to America in 1905 and settled near Tripp. He was married in 1907 and the couple came to Creighton in that year where they homesteaded. In December of 1945 Mr. & Mrs. Eisenbraun moved to Wall. Six children are surviving: Rudolph and Gotthold of Creighton, Edwin of Miller, Mrs. Robert (Tillie) Denke of Wall, Mrs. James (Hulda) Haney of Rapid City and Ferdinand of Wall.
