------------------------- The Carnegie Herald, Wed., Oct. 29, 1986 Leonard Roland Funeral services for Leonard A. Roland, 65-year-old Eakly area farmer were held in the First Assembly of God Church in Eakly Saturday, October 25, 1986 at 3:00 p.m. with Rev. Harvey Wampler and Rev. Ronald Thiessen, Assembly of God Ministers, officiating. Mr. Roland was born at Konawa, Oklahoma October 30, 1920 and died at his farm home near Eakly early Wednesday morning, October 22, 1986 very unexpectedly. Mr. Roland lived at Konawa until he was nine years old, he moved to the Eakly area in 1929 where he attended the Eakly Public Schools, graduating from there in 1941. During WWII he moved to California and worked in the shipyards. He was married to Miss Dorothy Evelyne Wynkoop September 14, 1943 in Reno, Nevada. After their marriage they moved to Loma, Colorado for two years, then to Bisbee, Arizona for 13 years where he worked as a miner. They couple moved back to Eakly in 1960 to farm and Mr. Roland was actively engaged in farming at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Evelyne of the rural home in Eakly; one son, Randall, also of the home; one daughter, Rita Haley of Oklahoma City; one grandchild; four brothers, Henry of Carnegie, Gene of Anchorage, Alaska, Gwin of Watagua, Texas and Donald of San Angelo, Texas; three sisters, Oleta Moore of Weatherford; Lavelle Horn of Fort Cobb; and Wanda Warren of Carmichael, California.
