Bio

John D. Roland was the son of J.R. and Mattie Roland. He was married to Miss Eltha Buie on February 8, 1920, at Konowa. They had six sons, Leonard of Hydro, J.D. of Fort Cobb; Henry of Carnegie; Gene of Northeast, Pa.; Gwin of Oklahoma City; and Donald of Odessa, Texas and three daughters, Mrs. Oleta Moore of Carnegie; Mrs. Lavell Horn of Fort Cobb; and Mrs. Wanda Lee Hicks of Hobbs, N.M. Mr. and Mrs. Roland moved to the Eakly community i 1929, where he farmed until near the end of World War II, at which time he moved in to Eakly and served as custodian of the Eakly schools for several years.
