Bio
Roberts Sarah Jane Roberts, 87, a native of Summerdale and a resident of Foley, died on Friday, Feb. 4, 2011 at her residence. She will always be remembered as a very loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She was a wonderful homemaker, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and attended St. Paul's Episcopal Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Roberts. Survivors include three daughters, Eulynne (Percy) Williams, Elaine (Jim) Lauder and Becky (Doug) Lipscomb, all of Foley; son, Denson (Mary) Freeman of Magnolia Springs; brother, Buddy Merchant of Robertsdale; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, other relatives and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Community Hospice, and to the loving caregivers, Sharon, LaKesha, Henrietta, Kenya, Pam and Sandra who cared for her as if she was their own mother. Visitation begins at 10 a.m. with funeral services at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 8 from the chapel of Wolfe-Bayview Funeral Home, Foley. Interment will follow at Pine Rest Memorial Park.
