Jonathan Cooper was married to ELIZABETH GALDSBY DUFFE on Sept. 12, 1809 in Williamson County, Tn. Jonathan Cooper's mother and father were: Captain Robert Cooper and Jane Hamilton of Fishing Creek, South Carolina. Elizabeth Duffe and Jonathan Cooper had fourteen children: William Hamilton, Amanda Melvina, Evalina Belmont, Sarah Ellen, Robert Henderson, Elizabeth Jane, Hester Stewart, John Hall, Matthew Delamere, David Youngman, James Oscar, Mary A., Cornelia, and Agnes Cooper. James Oscar Cooper is buried in Texas State Cemetery, Austin, Texas
