War Record: War of 1812 - Private, Capt. Wm. Spencer's Co. serving under Col. George H. Nixon's Regiment, Mississippi Militia, May 16, 1814 - Oct. 7, 1814; and in Capt. Harmon M. Runnel's Co., 13th Regiment (Nixson's) Mississippi Militia, Jan . 8, 1815 - Feb. 7, 1815. Drafted in Lawrence< miss. HISTORY: Helped forge the nails for the coffin Of Meriwether Lewis in 1809, when he lived in Maury Co., Tenn. Move to Mississippi about 1811, Served in as Mississippi State Senator from Covington, Wayne and Jones Counties 1827 - 1830. Moved to Marshall, Harrison Co. Texas in January 1845 Senator Hamilton Cooper was the son of Capt. Robert Cooper and Jane Hamilton. He was married to: MARGARET ELIZABETH STEPHENS Their children were: Mathew Delamere Cooper Lucinda Cooper William Hamilton Cooper Jane Weiler Cooper Agnas Elizabeth Cooper James Monroe Cooper Robert Bruce Cooper Sally Ann Cooper Joseph S.
