WINFIELD - Mr. William Leburn Smith, age 51, of Winfield, passed away on June 16, 1977 at his residence. He was born in Marion County and had been a resident of the Winfield area most of his life. He was a WWII Veteran and a member of the Winfield Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mary Catherine Smith; one son, Joe Smith of Winfield; 2 sisters, Mrs. Marie McCorkle, Muscles Shoals, Mrs. Amy Kendrick of Cherokee; 2 brothers, Leamon Smith, Guin, Amon Smith, Birmingham, his mother, Mrs. Montie Bell Knight, of Guin, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held on June 18, 1977 at 2 p.m. from the McGraw Memorial Chapel with interment in the Fairview Cemetery. Brother C.W. Box and Brother Walton Roberts were the officiating ministers. Miles Funeral Home directing.
