MUSCLE SHOALS - Mrs. Montie Bell Smith Knight, age 86 of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, passed away Friday, May 15, 1981 in the Oak Crest Nursing Home in Tuscumbia, Colbert County, Alabama. A native of Marion County, she lived in the Guin areas before moving to the Tri-Cities area to make her home with her daughters in Muscle Shoals and Cherokee. She had been a patient at the Oak Crest Nursing Home in Tuscumbia since December. She was a member of the Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Marie McCorkle of Muscle Shoals and Mrs. Amy Kendrick of Cherokee; two sons, Amon Smith of Gardendale and Leamon Smith of Guin; 22 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Marvin Nix of Winfield and one sister, Mrs. Hattie McKay of Glen Allen. Funeral services were held Sunday, May 17, 1981 at 3 p.m. from McGraw Memorial Chapel with burial in Fairview Cemetery. The officiating minister was Richard Cordell with Miles Funeral Home directing.
