The following obituary was published in the Herald Coaster on July 21, 1963: "Mrs. William Blase" Funeral services were held for Mrs. William Blase, 78, of Beasley at 3 p.m. Thursday in the Hope Lutheran Church in Beasley. Rev. Henry Engeling, Rev. Allen Johannes and Al Kline officiated. Mrs. Blase passed away Tuesday evening after a short illness. Mrs. Blase married Mr. Blase in November of 1902 in New Wehdem and moved to Fort Bend County in 1919. She is survived by her husband, William Blase of Beasley; five sons, Arthur Blase of Rosenberg, Herbert Blase of Sealy, Ervin Blase of Needville, Alton Blase of Houston and Raymond Blase of Beasley; three daughters, Mrs. Albert Ludwig of Rosenberg, Mrs. Hilda Cole of Houston and Mrs. Hayden Leus of Needville; three brothers, Otto Richter, Herman Richter and Fritz Richter of Beasley; seven sisters, Mrs. Louis Pieper of McGregor, Mrs. Fritz Kreuger and Mrs. Robert Hohlt of Brenham, Mrs Emil Hopman of New Wehdem, Mrs. Louis Heckman and Mrs. A. J. Ludwig of Beasley and Mrs. Will Henske of Kinney; 15 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Bennie Richter, Lawrence Richter, Lee Roy Ludwig, Dennis Richter, Lloyd Engel and Edwin Heckman. Burial was in the E. & R. Cemetery in Beasley. Services were under the direction of Garmany and Co. Funeral Directors. * * *
