Services for Gertie Mae Boyd, 85, of Childress are scheduled for 10 a.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jim McCurley officiating. Burial will be in Olympus Cemetery. Mrs. Boyd died Friday at Childress Regional Medical Center. She was born November 6, 1907, in Smith County. She married Lacy B. Boyd in May 1928 in Childress. Mrs. Boyd graduated from Childress High School. She received her teaching certificate from West Texas State University and taught in Childress. She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star. Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Billie Faye Larrison of Childress and Mary Joanne Clark of Bartlesville, Oklahoma; and brother Frank Hall of Mineral Wells; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
