Annie Hajdik became the second wife of Ludvik Smesny on Oct. 25, 1952. She was the daughter of Martin Hajdik and Frances Sula Hajdik. ****************************************************************************** OBITUARY FROM THE SEALY NEWS: ANNIE ROSA SMESNY Annie Rosa Smesny, 93, of Sealy, died Oct. 30, 2000, in Bellville. Funeral services were Nov. 1 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy with Rev. Octavio Muguerza officiating. Burial was at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Sealy. Pallbearers were Ben Hajdik, Keith Jasek, Randy Smesny, Ronald Smesny, Edwin Smesny, Jr., and Jerome Hlavaty, Jr. Honorary pallbearers were Willie Hajdik and Virgil Hajdik, She was born Sept. 3, 1907, in Frydek to Martin Hajdik and Frances Sula Hajdik. She was raised in Frydek and attended school there. She was a homemaker all her life, a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Sealy and a member of the KJZT Society. In 1952, she married Ludvik Smesny in Sealy. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Frances Hajdik; her husband, Ludvik Smesny; a stepdaughter, Henrietta Hlavaty; a stepson, Albert Smesny; three sisters, Mary Jez, Frances Reznicek and Julie Sodolak; and five brothers, Frank Hajdik, Willie Hajdik, John Hajdik, and Louis F. Hajdik, Sr. She is survived by a stepdaughter and stepson-in-law, Edith and Thomas Jasek of Grapeland; two stepsons and stepdaughters-in-law, Edwin and June Smesny of Baytown, and Max and Georgia Smesny of Midlothian; a stepdaughter-in-law, Georgia Smesny of Houston; a stepson-in-law, Jerry Hlavaty of Lolita; 20 stepgrandchildren and 31 step-great-grandchildren. Knesek Family Funeral Chapel in Sealy was in charge of the arrangements.
