Herald Coaster, February 23, 1999: Funeral services for Winnie Caldwell Tielke, 72, of Angleton, will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, at the First United Methodist Church in Angleton. The Rev. Chris Tate will officiate. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Rosenberg. Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at Palms Funeral Home in Angleton. Mrs. Tielke passed away Sunday, Feb. 21, 1999, in Houston. She was born May 1, 1926 in Houston to Survela Ann and Perry Caldwell. She graduated from West Columbia High School in 1945 and was voted Most Athletic. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Judy Young, in 1997. Her survivors include her husband of 16 years, Elgin W. Tielke of Angleton; children, Glorya Murphy and her husband, Mike, of Junction, Gary Beaird and his wife, Lynn, of Newton, N.C., Steve Beaird and his wife, Meda, of Teague, Vicki Beaird Gayle and her husband, Duke, of Angleton, and Kimberley Beaird Chavez and her husband, Noe, of Port Lavaca; step-children, Lynette Atkins and her husband, Tom, of Rosenberg, Ronald Tielke and his wife, Mel, of New Ulm, Nancy Beran and her husband, Adolph, of Rosenberg, Randy Tielke of Rosenberg, and Kurtis Tielke and his wife, Kim, of East Bernard; a sister, Wanda Larson and her husband, Warren, of Brazoria; and her twin brother, Wayne Caldwell and his wife, Wanda, of South Houston; 23 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Duane Harris, Trey Pittman, Steven Beaird, Mitch Beaird, Brandon Chavez, Beau Beaird, Jeffrey Kubes, and Richard Larson. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Owens, Tim Marlin, Jimmy Clifton, Jim Bowles, and Carl Meuth. For those wishing, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Foundation.
