WW II U.S. Navy Veteran Funeral services for Cletus Gene "Pete" Posey, 61, Roff will be 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Baptist Church of Hickory, the Rev. Kenneth Brady conducting rites. Burial will be in Hickory Cemetery under the direction of Smith Funeral Home. Mr. Posey died Wednesday at an Oklahoma City hospital. He was born April 15, 1925 in Hickory, to Thomas Jefferson and Rosalee Goodall Posey. He moved to Fittstown in 1977 from Sulphur and had lived at Hickory most of his life. He attended schools in McLish and Hickory. Mr. Posey was a construction worker, employed by several steel companies. He was a Baptist, a member of the American Legion and served with the Navy during World War II. On June 28, 1975, he married Mary Cline Karr in Sulphur. Survivors include his wife, Mary, of the home; two sons Gene Frank Posey, Arlington, Texas and Gary Wayne Posey, Angleton, Texas; six daughters, Judy Young, Omaha, Texas, Gloria, Houston, Texas, Donna Jean Posey, Ada, Cleta Kay Posey, Houston, and Brenda Joyce Christian and Shirley Potts, both of Elmore City; two sisters, Opal Brents, Roff, and Betty Archer, Ada; one brother Jim Posey, Roswell N.M.; and 14 grandchildren. Bears will be Larry Murphy, Bob Roland, George Dunagan, Gale Griffin, Jim Griffin and Benny Allison.
