Son of Emil Pratka and wife Agnes Kana Pratka. Married Christine Mary Podsednik in 1936. ~ ~ ~ ~ OBITUARY PUBLISHED IN THE WEST NEWS, West, Texas, Thursday, Feb. 5, 1998 Jerry E. Pratka Jerry E. Pratka, age 80 of Dayton, died January 27, 1998 in a Baytown hospital. He was born September 21, 1917, in Penelope. Services were at 10:30 a.m. January 30 at Sterling Funeral Home in Dayton with the Father Tom Phelan officiating. Burial followed at Eastgate Catholic Cemetery. As a young man, he was an avid baseball player. He moved his family to Dayton where he worked for Brown & Root Co. He was preceded in death by his wife Christine and a son Jimmy. Surviving are three sons, three daughters, and her husband, a sister, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were grandsons. Sterling Funeral Home of Dayton was in charge of arrangements.
