OBITUARY FROM VAZQUEZ FUNERAL HOME, Houston, Texas Sylvia Pratka Vyoral was born on September 3, 1937, in Penelope, Texas to Jerry and Christine Pratka. She took the hands of her Lord & Savior the afternoon of March 19, 2023. Sylvia is preceded in death by her parents Jerry and Christine Pratka, her husband Jerry John Vyoral Jr., her daughter Sheryl Stephens, her brothers Jimmy and Billy Pratka, her sister-in-law Kay Pratka and brothers-in-law Jesse Barton and John Calhoun. She is survived by her children, Thomas Vyoral and wife Tammy, Sandra Stransky, grandchildren: Justine Stephens and wife Maria, Tuesday Wilson and husband Tommy, Tabitha Vyoral. Great-grandson: Jason Stephens; brothers, Jerry Franklin Pratka, Ronnie Pratka and wife Carmine, sisters Jeanette and husband Winfred Walker and Evelyn Barton. Her adopted family: Kyle Stammer, Todd Barton, Summer Brown, Tina Barton as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Sylvia graduated from Dayton High School in 1956 and married the love of her life Jerry John Vyoral, Jr. the following year on August 10, 1957. She worked for Twenty Century Fox until she and Jerry started a family; then she became a fulltime housewife. Once her children were grown, Sylvia went back into the workforce and worked for the Port of Houston and worked there for many years as a manifest clerk. She enjoyed dancing to polka music, playing cards, dominoes, bingo, scratching lottery tickets, and putting puzzles together. She was a loving mother, grandmother, a great-grandmother and a dear friend to many. Her greatest enjoyments in life were watching her three grandchildren graduate from college, spending time with her family and friends...especially her great-grandson, Jason. She will be missed dearly. We would like to give a Special Thank You to the following people for your love, kindness and support: Father Peter, Lynda Hohn, Sherri and Harlin Colvin, Debbie Hinton, Felica Gobert, Kaci Jo Gobert, Amy Nolan, Jamie Smith, Suzie Bowes. Serving as her Pallbearers are Todd Barton, Justin Stephens, Ronnie Pratka, Tommy Wilson, Russell Walker and Jeremy Hard. Honorary Pallbearers are Tommy Podsednik, Jerry Pratka, Winfred Walker, Kyle Stammer, Chad Pratka. A visitation is scheduled for Thursday, March 23rd, 2023 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel of Blackwell & Vasquez Funeral Home located at 750 Uvalde Rd. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, March 24th, 2023, at St. Anne's Missions Catholic Church, 622 FM 686 in Dayton, Texas 77535 beginning at 11 a.m. We will then follow in funeral procession to St. Anne's Cemetery.
