Bio
Vaclav J. Pratka, age 84, of 210 W. Broadway in West, died at his residence December 17. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 18 in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel by Msgr. B.J. Zientek. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Dec. 19 in St. Mary's Catholic Church with Msgr. George Doskocil as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Pratka was born Sept. 27, 1901 in Fayette County. He lived in Penelope for several years before moving to West 56 years ago. He was married to Anna Pribyla August 6, 1926 at Penelope. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and was a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, Anna; a son, Daniel Pratka of Rt. 1, West; a daughter, Mrs. Joe R. (Mildred) Stanislav of Waco; three sisters, Christine Kristek of Bay City, Anna Horak of Granger and Mrs. Bill (Le4na) Kopecky of West; two brothers, Ike Pratka of Penelope and Jerry Pratka of Dayton; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers are Bill Aufman, Connie Jones III, Jerry Bolfing, Andrew Jackson, Jr., Alton Pratka and Calvin Pratka.
