Bio

The Goldendale Sentinel, Goldendale, WA., March 23, 1939, page 8 OBITUARY Earl Raymond Edgar, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Edgar, was born in Logan county near Winston, Colorado on July 21, 1920. He passed away at his home in Goldendale Friday evening, March 17 following a short illness. He was baptized by Father A.J. Miller, of the Catholic church, at Peetz, Colorado when a small child. He moved to Klickitat county from Sidney, Nebraska with his parents in 1931. For two years he resided in the Hartland community with his family and attended the Hartland school. The family moved back to Goldendale in 1931 where he entered school. It was in 1932 that he contracted diabetes, which disease with complications resulted in his death. He was graduated from the eighth grade in 1934 and from Goldendale high school in the class of 1938. During his school days he was a member of the Goldendale Boy Scout troop and attained the rank of second class Scout. Since his graduation from high school he worked on a National Youth Administration job at the county court house. Besides his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Edgar, he is mourned by five sisters, Ernestine, Ruth, June, Naomi and Frances, and three brothers, Clyde, John and Ralph; an uncle, Jack Edgar, and an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Brachtenbach, and cousins, Leslie, Lawrence and Bobby Brachtenbach; and numerous other relatives. Jimmie Brooks, Jimmie Spalding, Jimmie McKenzie, Jack Hatch, Joe Dressel, and Charles Kayser acted as pallbearers. Funeral services were held at 10:00 a.m., Monday from the Holy Trinity church with Father Lee officiating. Burial was in the I.O.O.F. cemetery. To Earl It doesn't seem quite right, dear brother That the Lord took you away, But he must have had a reason Not to let you stay. You were the dearest brother, Any sister ever had, That's why I can't understand Why you've gone and left me sad. We've played together, been gay together, In the days gone by, Now you're gone to join the angels, To be happy in the sky. Yes, you've left this earth, forever But your memory still remains, You'll always be my dearest brother, To me you'll always be the same. Ruth Edgar
