Eleanor E. Witt, 94, of Farmington, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, in Farmington. She was born Oct. 8, 1916, in Snyder, Texas, to Frank and Effie Eoff.Eleanor and Robert Cecil Witt were married in 1934, in La Mesa, Texas. They were married for 62 years and raised their four children. Their final years together were spent in Truth or Consequences.Eleanor spent her entire life dedicated to God, her church and her family. One of the greatest gifts she instilled in the hearts of her family was the power of prayer and making all of life's decisions based solely on God's will.She was a classy little lady who approached all phases of life with an incredible strength, spunk and vigor.Eleanor was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cecil Witt; son, Max Lamar Witt Sr.; parents, Frank and Effie Eoff; brothers, Smith Eoff II and Weldon Eoff; sister, Geraldine Ivey; and one grandson.She is survived by a son, Robert R. (Clara) Witt; daughters, Dawn W. (George) Dickerson and Connie C. (Bill) Kelt; 11 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. on Good Friday, April 22, at Vista Memory in Truth or Consequences, with Pastor Bill Byler officiating.The family wishes to express their sincere thanks and utmost appreciation to the staff of the Gingerich Home for the Elderly.
