Henrietta Cecilia Hain, the daughter of John and Emma (Novak) Kobza, was born in Dwight, Neb., on July 27, 1923, and died in Seward, Neb., on Nov. 15, 2010, at the age of 87. Henrietta graduated from Dwight Assumption School in 1940. Henrietta was married to Bohumil (Bo) Hain on June 6, 1944, in Dwight They lived and farmed near Brainard before moving to a farm near Dwight and later near Seward. They moved to their farm near Aurora in 1954. Henrietta was a cook at the school for several years before working as a seamstress at Bonnavilla for over 20 years. Bo passed away on Aug. 8, 2005. Henrietta was a very active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and Altar Society in Aurora. She cleaned the church and altar linens for many years as well as helping prepare many funeral lunches. Caring for her family was her priority. She was a wonderful mom and grandma. Henrietta was known for her hospitality providing her family and friends with wonderful food, especially her kolaches and decorated wedding cakes. Henrietta was a 4-H leader and was very involved in her garden club. The flowers she raised, especially her roses, won her many awards. She enjoyed her vegetable garden as well, sharing it with family and friends. She and Bo enjoyed raising exotic pheasants and angoia goats. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, son, Gregory and son-in-law, Tom Launer. Henrietta is survived by: sons, Bob (Mori) Hain of Pueblo, Colo., Dan (JoAnn) Hain of Aurora and Ken (Peggy) Hain of Lincoln; daughters, Kathy Launer of Aurora and Donna (Jerry) Cronin of Pleasant Prairie, Wis.; 15 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren and a host of friends and relatives.
