Irene Gerik, age 73 of West passed away Sunday afternoon in a Bellmead nursing home. Rosary was crecited 10 am Tuesday in St. Marys Church of the Assumption in Est. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10:15 am Tuesdya in St. Marys Chruch of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Stephen Nesrsta as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Marys Cemetery in West. Miss Gerik was born March 11, 1931 in West and had lived in the West area all of her life. She was a graduate of St. Marys School in West, a member of St. Marys Chruch of the Assumption and KJZT Society #11. Survivors include four brothers; Johnny Gerik and Marvin Gerik of West, Frankie Gerik and Bernard Gerik of Bellmead; two sisiters, Mrs. Ed (Doris) Nesrsta of Abbott and Mary Jane Gerik of Bellmead and several nieces and nephews. Active Pallbearers were Chris Gerik, Calvin Gerik, Richard Gerik, Mark Gerik, Larry Nesrsta and Edward Nesrsta. Memorials may be made to St. Marys Church of the Assumption Parish Center or to a charity of your choice. Kotch Funeral Home of West was in charge of arrangements.
