Bio

Timothy Lynn Gerik, 49, of Aquilla, passed away Tuesday Jan. 6, 2009, at his residence. A rosary will be recited and Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 3 p.m. Friday, at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with the Rev. Ed Karasek and the Rev. B. George as celebrants. Burial will follow at Fatima Cemetery near Abbott. The family will receive visitors 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, at Aderhold Funeral Home. Tim was born in Waco, Texas, to Jerry and Irene Muehlstein Gerik. He graduated from Aquilla High School and attended Texas State Technical College. He worked in the agriculture business for Gerik Farms and G&P Seed Company in Aquilla. Tim was an avid Texas Longhorn fan and also enjoyed watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. He was a member of the West Knights of Columbus, Abbott KJT, and St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. He is preceded in death by his mother, Irene Gerik; grandparents, Emil and Mary Gerik and Ed and Annie Muehlstein; and his brother-in-law, Ernie Janek. Survivors include his father, Jerry Gerik Sr. and wife, Martha, of Aquilla; brothers, Dennis Gerik and wife, Linda, Jerry Gerik Jr. and wife, Denise and Ron Gerik and wife, Marsha, all of Aquilla, and Jimmy Gerik and wife, Martha, of Reedley, Calif.; sisters, Deborah Janek, of Aquilla, and Kathy Hill and husband, Rick, of Burleson; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends.
